Sammanfattning: AbstractThe purpose of my study is to examine and compare two separate pre-schools’ work in thestudio with the children’s creative activities in an educational environment. One pre-schoolutilizes the educational theories of the Reggio Emilia philosophy whereas the other is aconventional municipal pre-school which uses the traditional teachings of Fröbel. I havechosen to conduct interviews with an educationalist from each pre-school and to photographwhat I have seen in the two different studios in each pre-school and from that compose ananalysis. My main question at issue is “What differences and similarities are there betweenthe way of working in a studio in a Reggio Emilia influenced pre-school and a traditional pre-school?”. I have found several similarities in the way the two different pre-schools work butwhat I focus on in my analysis are the differences. The main difference is in the use ofmaterial in the creative process and the way the municipal pre-school is more economical inits way of letting the children use the materials. Both in the monetary way and in the way ofnot letting too many different materials to be out at the same time which according toEducationalist 1 can cause so-called chaos. In the Reggio Emilia pre-school however theydon’t want to create any boundaries by holding in on materials.--
