Värde, teknologi och institutionell förändring: Ett alternativt synsätt på strukturcykler och fordismens utveckling som tillväxtmodell

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen

Sammanfattning: In this study I present a theoretical model based on Marx´s critique of political economy, specific readings of Marx´s work and the regulation approach. This model will be used to explain long waves and cycles in long term economic growth, creative destruction (i.e the relation between technological leaps and economic crisis) and the ways in which these processes correspond to institutional development. I will use the model to explain fordism as a process of institutional development, tied to a specific long wave of economic expansion. I will also use the theory in a empirical study of the development of fordism in a specific country. More specifically, I will look at how the social segmentation of industrial labor and the ability of workers to resist deskilling, affected the development of fordism as a regime of accumulation in this country. The country in question is England, a place renowned for its flawed fordism.
