Sammanfattning: The aim of this study was to examine what school counselors think about their role in their work with bullying among pupils. More specifically the aim was to find out how counselors role in work with bullying look like, how counselors describe bullying from their role and which practical roles they had in their work with bullying. This study was a qualitative study, where six semistructured interviews were done. Interviews were done with six active school counselors who worked in three Swedish townships in Skåne. Two of the school counselors worked with the Olweus bullying program, there their roles as school counselors were not of big importance in bullying work. The other four of school counselors worked with bullying in their schools without any bullying program, there their role were much more important and they had much more responsibilities in work with bullying among pupils on their place of work. The complexity in counselors roles appeared be widespread, there the duties were not just in helping pupils with supportive talk, but even coworking with pupils parents and teachers, there preventive working were an important part of being in school counselors role. Working as a school counselor did not mean that one was just being in one work role but the works extent resulted in a role-set with different roles, there school counsellor were needed.
