“Jag godkänner och går vidare”: Integritetslitteracitet och dataintegritet efter GDPR : En kvalitativ analys om hur Uppsalastudenter uppfattar sin integritetslitteracitet och syn på dataintegritet

Sammanfattning: In a time where we share more online, and with companies using our ignorance to their advantage it becomes more significant for users to take their data management in their own hands. This essay researches the knowledge behind data integrity of students at Uppsala University with the aim to see how users perceive their data management and if the perceivement have been affected by laws such as GDPR and other factors, and also analyze if their behaviour reflects their knowledge. The research question is "What are the Uppsala students views on data integrity following the introduction of the Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?". The theoretical framework used in the essay is privacy literacy, from the theory and previous research it was apparent that the methods used in the field was mainly quantitative. The method of choice for this essay ultimately became qualitative to complement the research that was conducted before. The methods in this essay are focus groups and qualitative content analysis. The results showed that there is an integrity paradox where the user behaviour and attitude does not match, they showed knowledge for the subject but they do not act accordingly to protect their integrity on the internet.
