Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Göteborgs universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

Sammanfattning: The EU countries are the host countries of many migrant groups, and Sweden is one of these countries. Immigrants from North Macedonia are, on the other hand, a group of migrants whose integration into some of the European labor markets is not researched. From that point of view is the purpose of this study to create an understanding of how Macedonian immigrants in Sweden experience their labor market integration. The study focuses on individual’s own ability to integrate in the labor market. This study is qualitative, and the method is interviews. To gather material, seven interviews were conducted with Macedonian immigrants who have moved to Sweden in the past 10 years. Theoretical points on which this study is based are human capital and social capital. The results of the study show that some of the respondents feel integrated in the Swedish labor market, while others do not feel integrated. The results highlight that human capital has a greater impact on Macedonian immigrants' labor market integration than social capital.
