    Sammanfattning : This essay is about the circumstances of the sport association Orgryte Idrottssallskap (OIS) in the years 1943–1960. The purpose is to find out if the association can be called a democratic people's movement project by studying how the boards relationship to different groups like women, different social classes and political groups looked like and thereby problematizing how the association's relation to democratic integration and democratic ruling.
