  1. 6. The regional test of relationship between economic growth and CO2 emissions : --Evidence from Chinese provinces

    Kandidat-uppsats, Jönköping University/Internationella Handelshögskolan

    Författare :Thoth Mo; Weibin Wang; [2023]
    Nyckelord :EKC; high-income provinces; low-income provinces; Inverted U-shaped relationship; turning point;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis has investigated the validity of the Environmental Kuznets Curve in the provinces of China which assumes the increase in GDP per capita (income per capita) would generate the raise of CO2 emissions (pollution) until a turning point in which CO2 emissions start decreasing. The study includes 30 provinces over a period spanning from 2000 to 2019 by applying OLS and Fixed-effects regression model with panel data. LÄS MER

  2. 7. CO2-emissions from domestic goods transport in countries with high income and high equality : A study of changes in BNP/capita, trade intensity and GINI-index relating to CO2-emissions

    Master-uppsats, Södertörns högskola/Institutionen för samhällsvetenskaper

    Författare :Martin Planfeldt; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Environmental Kuznets Curve EKC ; Trade; Goods transport; GINI-index; GDP;

    Sammanfattning : Transportation is one of the largest sectors contributing to CO2-emissions, and has doubled its emissions in 30 years. Despite this, studies of the environmental Kuznets curve (”EKC”) often focus on stationary industry emissions. LÄS MER

  3. 8. GREEN GROWTH – A TECHNOLOGICAL SUCCESS OR AN OFFSHORING STORY? : Investigating Ecological Footprints of Production and Consumption

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Umeå universitet/Nationalekonomi

    Författare :Linnea Casselryd; [2022]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : With the green growth strategies that are currently dominating the environmental agenda, the ability to decouple economic growth from environmental pressure is a condition for these to succeed. The vast body of literature that examine this relationship typically rely on narrow indicators of environmental pressure and neglect the environmental impact embodied in international trade. LÄS MER

  4. 9. MEASURING ECO-EFFICIENCY OF PRODUCTION IN OECD MEMBER COUNTRIES : A STOCHASTIC FRONTIER ANALYSIS

    Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Nationalekonomi

    Författare :Mahmoud Seif Mohammed; [2022]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This paper analyzed the eco-efficiency of 27 OECD member countries by using output-oriented Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) model. In the set-up of the model, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was used as a good output whereas Carbon dioxide (CO2), Sulphur dioxide (SO2) and Nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions were used as bad outputs. 5. 10. Carbon dioxide, renewable energy and economic growth : A Swedish non-EKC case study

    Master-uppsats, Södertörns högskola/Nationalekonomi

    Författare :Josephine Andersson; Kristina Everstova; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Economic growth; Environmental Kuznets Curve; Granger Approach; VECM; Sweden; Renewable energy consumption;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this master’s thesis is to investigate the relationship between renewable and non-renewable energy consumption, economic growth and carbon dioxide emissions per capita in Sweden in the period of 1970-2018. As indicators, the economic indicator will be represented by the per capita gross domestic product, GDP, as the environmental indicator this study will use carbon dioxide emissions per capita, CO2, and the energy use per capita will represent the energy consumption variable.
