6. Dynamic Modelling of the Patient Circuit for High Frequency Ventilation
Master-uppsats, KTH/Maskinkonstruktion (Inst.)Sammanfattning : Artificial breathing is vital when it comes to treatment of critically ill patients where the natural breathing mechanism is insufficient. With the help of mechanical ventilators, the natural breathing mechanism of the patient can be assisted or even exchanged with the artificial breathing from the machine. LÄS MER
7. Visibility in Smoke With Different Extinction Coefficients
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för BrandteknikSammanfattning : Visibility in smoke has since the 1970s gained some attention, mostly after Tadahisa Jin ran the experiments which helped him develop todays widely used visibility equation. By showing that visibility can be assumed to be inversely proportional to the extinction coefficient by a visibility constant (equal to 8 for light emitting sign and 3 for light reflecting), Jin opened up new doors for researchers who were testing out his theory by going around experimenting in different ways and also by showing that there is way for more research to be done. 8. Simulating cable fires in Fire Dynamics Simulator : Based on small scale testing in cone calorimeter
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Luleå tekniska universitet/Byggkonstruktion och brandSammanfattning : In a society increasingly more influenced by technology and electricity, electrical and computer cables will play a more vital role in humans’ everyday life. With an increasing number of cables being introduced into society, the risk of fires caused by or involving cables will increase and become a more common danger to property and human lives. LÄS MER
9. A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF TRAVELLING FIRE IN LARGE SPACES WITH MULTI-ZONE FIRE MODEL AND FDS
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för BrandteknikSammanfattning : A knowledge of far field temperatures is valuable for Performance Based Design structural analysis and life safety analysis, where a parametric study is needed. A fire model using multiple zones called a multi zone (MZ) fire model has in previous studies shown good potential as an analytical tool for predicting far field temperatures in large compartments. 10. Burning material behaviour in hypoxic environments: An experimental study examining fire dynamics of composite materials in vitiated conditions
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för BrandteknikSammanfattning : The progression of fire safety research has contributed to improving the guiding principles of standardised building design. Research making use of pure materials, once common in homes and workplaces, are less relevant as such materials are no longer as prevalent. LÄS MER
