  1. 21. The Use of Syntax and Lexicon Structures in Political Discourse : A Case Study of Boris Johnson’s Speeches on COVID-19

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan Dalarna/Institutionen för språk, litteratur och lärande

    Författare :Pantelia Emmanouil; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Boris Johnson; Covid-19; Lexicon Structures; Political Discourse Analysis; Syntax Structures;

    Sammanfattning : In their book, Fairclough and Fairclough (2013) claim that political leaders’ main role is to make choices in difficult situations. Due to the coronavirus outbreak worldwide, every political leader was called to make difficult decisions and to announce them to their respective public. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Reliability-Based Sensitivity Analysis of the Dynamic Response of Railway Bridges

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad

    Författare :Hasan Al-Zubaidi; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Railway bridges; High-speed trains; Simply supported beam; Global sensitivity analysis; Uncertainty quantification; Reliability; Ballast instability; Running safety; Passenger comfort;

    Sammanfattning : In response to the planned increase in operational speeds and axle loads of passengertrains that may lead to resonance-induced excessive vibrations in railway bridges,recent studies examined the reliability of bridges concerning train running safety andpassenger comfort limit states. In this respect, valuable information regarding theimportance of input variables can be obtained by conducting Sensitivity Analysis (SA). LÄS MER

  3. 23. Investigation of Vibration in Electrical Circuit used in Maritime Applications

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Lättkonstruktioner, marina system, flyg- och rymdteknik, rörelsemekanik

    Författare :Babak Rouhani; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Mechanics; Vibration; Modal analysis; Electronic equipment; Circuit board; Mekanik; Vibration; Modal analys; Elektronik utrustning; Kretskort;

    Sammanfattning : This paper presents an investigation of a problem discovered in electronic equipment where mechanical load was the leading cause of the issue. Finite Element Analysis is used to investigate vibration issues in soldering and components. Simulations are performed with ANSYS modal and random vibration package. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The use of Deep Learning methods for Document Understanding has been embraced by the research community in recent years. A requirement for Deep Learning methods and especially Transformer Networks, is access to large datasets. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Modality in Spiritual Literature : A Corpus Aided Discourse Study on Sadhguru and Eckhart Tolle

    Master-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för språk (SPR)

    Författare :SHOWMIK JOY BHOWMIK; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Spirituality; mystics; modality; modal shading; epistemic; deontic; bigrams; CADS;

    Sammanfattning : This study investigates and discusses how two spiritual teachers from different parts of the world interact with their devotees, what the probable impacts of their interaction are, and whether they speak similarly or differently based on the use of modal auxiliary verbs and pronouns. Linguistically speaking, the mystics mostly have to address their audience/readers in a particular manner with expressions which represent certainty, possibility, obligation and so on; thus, a study of such is necessary and modal auxiliary verbs represent such expressions.
