    Sammanfattning : Background: The demanding critical care environment exposes critical care nurses to a higher level of stress and the degree of burnout in critical care nurses is higher than other care and nursing staff. Indirect exposure to trauma in these environments coupled with burnout and reduced satisfaction from empathic work can contribute to compassion fatigue with consequences for staff health and patient care.
