    Sammanfattning : Objectives: To investigate the relationship between the domestic unemployment rate and suicides in Sweden with respect to gender, age-group and different levels of aggregate unemployment Design: Ecological study using time series and fixed effect estimation Data: Age-group and gender specific suicide- and unemployment rates for Sweden covering the years 1970-2013 Main outcome measure: Age-group and gender specific suicide rates Results: No significant association between unemployment- and suicide rates are found in the general population examining the complete data set.
