    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this project was to develop a virtual sensing model in order to estimate the vacuum level in the milking cluster with data collected further along the milk tube. Measuring the cluster vacuum level is desirable for many applications, such as control and monitoring, but due to the cow's tendency to kick, chew and stomp on anything within reach, placing a sensor in or close to the cluster is both difficult and impractical.     Sammanfattning : In this thesis, an innovative coarse grid CFD approach is developed that aims toexploit the capabilities of sub-channel codes and CFD methods while overcoming theirlimitations. In the approach, a very coarse mesh is implemented in the CFD softwareOpenFOAM and a new wall treatment, based on the traditional concept of the wallfunction, is applied to the wall boundary conditions of the domain to take into accountthe low resolution of the grid which does not allow to effectively capture the effect of thesolid walls on the thermo-hydraulics of the flow. This master thesis focuses on a novel carbon capture absorption technology, developed at Lund University, that utilizes the amine 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) in the organic solvent dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) to capture CO2.
