  1. 1. Inductive fast charging of IoT devices : An in-depth analysis of short-range wireless charging technologies based on induction

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysik

    Författare :Franz Wikner; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Electromagnetic power transfer; Inductive power transfer; Short distance WPT;

    Sammanfattning : In the era of Internet of things (IoT), sensor-equipped devices exchange data over networks. In battery powered IoT devices, the lifespan of the devices is often much longer than the battery life, leading to multiple costly and environmentally hazardous battery replacements during the operational life of the devices. 2. 2. Misfire Detection in Heavy Duty Diesel Engines Using Knock Sensors

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Fordonssystem

    Författare :Carl Sjöstedt; [2023]
    Nyckelord :ICE; combustion engine; combustion engines; Scania; diesel; knock; knock sensor; knock sensors; misfire; misfire detection;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis the possibility of using knock sensors for misfire detection in heavy duty diesel engines is investigated. This is of great interest due to many emission legislations getting stricter, especially in the US where robust misfire detection is mandatory for these types of engines. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Enhancing Sensing in Nanoscale: Investigation of Smart Nanomechanical Cantilever Array

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Författare :Hiruy Michael Weldegiorgish; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Cantilever; AFM; Biosensor; Piezoresistive sensor; Piezoelectric actuator; Kantilever; AFM; Biosensor; Piezo -resistorer; Piezo-elektiska pådrivare;

    Sammanfattning : In this report, a novel smart nanocantilever with self-deflection sensor using embedded piezo-resistor and self-actuation using integrated piezo-electric actuator is proposed, designed and simulated to enable highly sensitive label free biosensor and ultra-short cantilever probe for AFM applications. The smart nanocantilever comprises of a triangular Si3N4 nanocantilever (10µm long, 400nm width and 100nm thickness) connected to a multi-layer support structure (Si3N4 (100nm)/PZT (100nm)) having n-type silicon piezo resistor (7µm long ,2µm width and 20nm thickness) embedded in the Si3N4 layer in both the support structure and nanocantilever. 4. 4. Testbed Development for Non-invasive Intracranial Pressure Monitoring with a Microwave based Electromagnetic Skin Patch Sensor

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap

    Författare :Sandra Palm; Hassan Saado; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Intracranial pressure; Artificial cerebrospinal fluid; Biomedical engineering; Microwave sensor;

    Sammanfattning : Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) are a major public health problem worldwide where the symptoms can be anything from mild concussion to severe swelling of the brain tissue. As a result of TBI the intracranial pressure (ICP) can elevate to pathological levels with severe consequences such as hypoxia, ischemia and brain hemorrhage. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Out-of-plane Ferromagnetic Resonance (FMR) measurements on magnetic nanoparticle dispersions for biomedical sensor applications

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik

    Författare :Markus Back; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Ferromagnetic; magnetic; resonance; FMR; EPR; nanoparticle; microwave; coplanar; waveguide; cavity; s-parameter; gilbert; damping; gyromagnetic; liquid; biosensor; landau; lifshits; spin; polymer; composites; engineering physics; teknisk fysik; magnetism; ferromagnetisk; vågledare; resonans; mikrovågsteknik; nanopartiklar;

    Sammanfattning : In this master work, we investigated the feasibility of a magnetic resonance measurement technique using magnetic nanoparticle dispersions in both liquid and solid form. The implementation is realised as a coplanar waveguide operating in the frequency range of 0.5 - 20 GHz and an electromagnet producing a static magnetic field of strength up to 1. LÄS MER
