  1. 1. Multibody modelling of the vibrations in an aircraft engine

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Lättkonstruktioner, marina system, flyg- och rymdteknik, rörelsemekanik

    Författare :Charly Mollet; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Vibrations; Multibody Modelling; Rolling Bearings; Rotor Dynamics; Reduction Processes; Vibrationer; multikroppsmodellering; rullingslager; rotordynamik; reducktionsprocesser;

    Sammanfattning : During the assembly of aircraft engines, some clearance is left in the rolling bearings mainly to reduce friction. However this clearance might allow the rolling element to vibrate during flight. Indeed, unwanted vibrations called non-synchronous vibrations (NSV) appear on the data recorded by the sensors on some development engines. LÄS MER

  2. 2. On the friction and failure mechanisms of bearing and gear surfaces lubricated by a novel nanoadditive in highly stressed operating conditions

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Författare :Diego Manuel Chamorro Ruz; [2022]
    Nyckelord :micropitting; nanoadditive; gear; bearing; tribology; rolling contact fatigue;

    Sammanfattning : Obtaining an enhanced lifespan for mechanical transmissions has become a challenge in diverse application sectors. Micropitting as a contact fatigue mechanism has seriously jeopardized the well-being of rolling-sliding elements present for instance in gearboxes. LÄS MER

  3. 3. SUSTAINABLE LUBRICATION FOR FUTURE TRANSMISSIONS : Micropitting performance of Glycerol-based lubricants

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Författare :Zapata Tamayo Juan Guillermo; [2021]
    Nyckelord :micropitting; mild sliding wear; surface coating; diamond-like carbon DLC; glycerol-based lubrication; green lubricant; rolling contact fatigue; rolling-sliding;

    Sammanfattning : Achieving sustainable lubrication by using environmentally friendly formulated lubricants has became an essential component of the transition process from fossil-powered vehicles to electrified transportation. Mixtures, or aqueous solutions of molecules such as polyhydroxy alcohols, and glycols usually known as green lubricants make it possible to achieve low friction coefficients under different lubrication conditions, which constitutes a potential alternative to improve the tribological performance of moving parts in automotive systems, at the same time that the environmental requirements are satisfied. 4. 4. The relation between rolling resistance and tyre temperature in real driving scenarios

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Fordonssystem

    Författare :Hugo Jansson; Martin Åsenius; [2021]
    Nyckelord :tyre; tire; model; temperature; brush model;

    Sammanfattning : A large portion of the world’s total emissions is caused by the transport sector where rolling resistance is one of the contributing factors. The inner tyre temperature is a factor that greatly influences the rolling resistance. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Development of a method for estimation of contact fatigue life in hypoid gears

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Maskinkonstruktion (Inst.)

    Författare :Srigiripura Sahana Vittal; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Hypoid Gear; Rolling Contact fatigue; Fatigue life; FEM; Gear Contact life; Spalling; physical testing; fatigue analysis; Hypoidväxel; rullande kontaktutmattning; utmattningslivslängd; FEM; växelkontaktlivslängd; spalling; fysisk testning; utmattningsanalys;

    Sammanfattning : Hypoid gears have been used extensively in automobiles, aerospace, marine and other applications for decades. The special advantages of hypoid gears come with inherent contact complexities of varying curvature and sliding in both profile and lengthwise direction. LÄS MER
