  1. 1. Rotational Properties of Lee-Huang-Yang Bosonic Condensates from One to Two Dimensions

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Hjalmar Holmström; [2022]
    Nyckelord :BEC; Bose-Einstein condensate; quantum fluid; Quantum mechanics; LHY; LHY-fluid; Lee-Huang-Yang; Rotating BEC; BEC droplet; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis covers the work of a numerical examination of the rotational properties of a two-component Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) utilizing the beyond mean-field extended Gross-Pitaevskii equation for a specified set of parameters. These parameters are chosen to cancel the strength of the mean-field interaction, which makes the system predominantly governed by the next order beyond the mean-field Lee-Huang-Yang (LHY) term. 2. 2. Real-time stability and dynamics of vortices in quasi-two-dimensional self-bound two-component Bose-Einstein condensate

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Philipp Stürmer; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Bose-Einstein condensate; bosons; self-bound; cold atom gases; vortex; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a numerical study of the beyond mean field extended Gross-Pitaevskii equation for a two-component self-bound Bose-Einstein condensate, supplemented by analytical work. We extend the quasi-two-dimensional system's mean field particle-particle contact interaction by quantum fluctuations (LHY-correction). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Numerical Calculations of Efimov States in Ultracold Atomic Systems

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemivetenskap (CHE)

    Författare :Kajsa-My Blomdahl; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Efimov Effect; Ultracold Atoms; Universality; Scattering; Efimov effekt; Ultrakalla Atomer; Universalitet; Spridningslängd; Numeriska Beräkningar;

    Sammanfattning : In systems of ultracold atoms,  the  quantum  Efimov  effect  can  appear where identical bosons form an infinite tower of bound trimer states in the resonant limit, at the bound dimer dissociation threshold. The most characteristic feature of this effect is that their energy spectrum obey a geometric scaling law, which is universal in the sense that it emerges irrespective of the nature of the two body forces.
