  1. 1. Reliability Assessment of Passive ICS in an SMR as part of the PSA Analysis

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fysik

    Författare :Graeme Trundle; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Passive system reliability; Probabilistic safety assessment; Reliability Methods of Passive Systems; Natural circulation; TRACE; RiskSpectrum; Passiv systemtillförlitlighet; Probabilistisk säkerhetsbedömning; Reliability Methods of Passive Systems; Naturlig cirkulation; TRACE; RiskSpectrum;

    Sammanfattning : Passive safety systems are increasingly being utilized in prospective nuclear power plant designs. Indeed, the use of safety systems driven by natural phenomena might be seen as an unmitigated virtue. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Evaluating forest wildfire effect on tree increment patterns for boreonemoral forests in Sweden: A pilot study using remote sensing

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Joanna Eaton; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography and Ecosystem analysis; Remote sensing; Sentinel-2A; Forest wildfires; dNBR; NDVI; dNDVI; Dendrochronology; Atmospheric science and biogeochemical cycles; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The release of anthropogenic greenhouse gases (GHGs) has substantially increased the global mean surface air temperature. Increases in global mean surface air temperature will lead to warmer and drier conditions, promoting more frequent, long-lasting, intense forest wildfires. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Methods for rockfall risk assessment and estimation of runout zones: A case study in Gothenburg, SW Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Laura Catalina Agudelo Motta; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Rockfall hazard; rockfall simulation; Gothenburg; Fjällbo; runout zones; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Rockfalls occur around Sweden every year and the country lacks a national risk evaluation and an adequate regulatory framework for construction related to this natural hazard. The aim of this study is to address this problem by mapping areas under possible threat of rockfalls, considering two fundamental aspects: i) identification of the source areas and ii) estimation of the runout zones. 4. 4. Comparative study of risk analysis methods from a fire safety perspective - Case study of new underground facilities at CERN

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Brandteknik

    Författare :Frida Olin; Erik Isaksson; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Risk analysis methods; design fires; event tree analysis; preliminary hazard analysis; What-if; ROGA; Gretener method; NFPA 101; comparative analysis; CERN; technical risk analysis methods; case study; LHC; HL-LHC; complex methods; simplified methods; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This report has investigated which type of risk analysis methods that can be used in an early design phase in a unique facility from a time and quality perspective. Two planned underground facilities for the HL-LHC at CERN have been used as a case study. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Alternativ utformning av brandskydd vid särskilt boende för personer med vårdbehov

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Brandingenjörsprogrammet; Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Brandteknik; Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Johan Lindberg; [2009]
    Nyckelord :risk-based approach; fire protection design; alternative design; event tree methodology; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The report presents four different alternative designs for a nursing home or an accommodation for elderly people (special housing) that are possible to use with the installation of an automatic sprinkler system. The conclusion of the performed simulations and the subsequent discussion is that under certain conditions may be possible to integrate the lounge with corridors and that automatic door closers can be excluded.
