1. Indocyanine-green fluorescence imaging to detect anastomotic insufficiency after esophagectomy
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/FörbränningsfysikSammanfattning : This research project is concerned with the development of simulation models and image analysis algorithms, as well as instrumentation for characterizing anastomotic leakages after a patient has undergone surgery for esophageal cancer. Anastomotic leakage is a high-incidence complication after esophagectomy, a surgical procedure for esophageal cancer. LÄS MER
2. Hypoxia and hematopoietic stem cell control with the substance Adaptaquin : An evaluation of hematopoietic stem cell’s proliferation and differentiation in artificially induced hypoxia
Kandidat-uppsats, Malmö universitet/Institutionen för biomedicinsk vetenskap (BMV)Sammanfattning : Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) have historically been difficult to maintain ex vivo with many attempts to culture them in vitro by mimicking their natural biological environment. Providing a hypoxic environment is one way to achieve this goal and can be performed by using hypoxia stimulating compounds that inhibits the degradation of HIF1a which plays an important role in regulating hypoxia. 3. Characterization of Carotid Atherosclerotic Stenosis on Photon-Counting Computed Tomography
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/SjukhusfysikerutbildningenSammanfattning : Introduction and aim Atherosclerotic stenosis located at the carotid bifurcation accounts for 10% − 20% of all Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIA) and ischemic strokes, which occurs when Atherosclerotic stenosis, or so-called plaque, ruptures. The current method to evaluate carotid atherosclerotic stenosis is to measure the degree of stenosis. LÄS MER
4. Investigating permeability characteristics of porcine esophageal mucosa: A viable ex vivo model for human buccal mucosa
Master-uppsats, Malmö universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa och samhälle (HS)Sammanfattning : Due to its larger surface area and ease of preparation, pig esophageal mucosa has emerged as a practical and viable alternative to buccal mucosa for studying permeability characteristics in vitro. However, the permeation results in biological membranes have shown high variability due to inter-specimen and intra-specimen variations. LÄS MER
5. Undersökning av förpackningstyp & förpackningsmaterial för perfusionslösning vid njurtransplantation
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknikSammanfattning : The demand for kidney transplantation is growing while the number of donors continues to be insufficient, prolonging the process. Today’s method has a short time frame for carrying out the transplant, where the kidney must be taken out within 30-60 minutes after death. LÄS MER
