  1. 16. Crack propagation in concrete dams driven by internal water pressure

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Betongbyggnad

    Författare :Maria Sohrabi; José Sanchez Loarte; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Concrete cracks; water pressure; concrete dams; crack propagation; finite element analysis; linear elastic fracture mechanics; instrumentation;

    Sammanfattning : Concrete structures are in general expected to be subjected to cracking during its service life. This is the reason why concrete is reinforced, where the reinforcement is only activated after cracks occur. However, cracks may be a concern in large concrete structures, such as dams, since it may result in reduced service life. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Non-Linear Assessment of a Concrete Bridge Slab Loaded to Failure

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Betongbyggnad

    Författare :Eriksson Isabell; Niklas Karlsson; [2016]
    Nyckelord :concrete; linear shear; punching shear; non-linear finite element analysis; Eurocode; Model Code; ATENA 3D; betong; skjuvning; genomstansning; icke-linjär finit-elementanalys; Eurocode; Model Code; ATENA 3D;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis covers an investigation regarding the failure in the bridge slab of Gruvvägsbron, which was the result of the full scale test that the bridge was subjected to prior to demolition. Using the non-linear finite element software ATENA 3D, a model of the bridge was assembled, with the purpose to attempt to reenact the test procedure and realistically capture the failure load and behaviour. 3. 18. Development of Methods and Guidelines for Upper Extremity Injury in Car Accidents

    M1-uppsats, Högskolan i Halmstad/Akademin för ekonomi, teknik och naturvetenskap

    Författare :Oscar Cyrén; Moa Harryson; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Biomechanics; Upper Extremity Injury Prevention; Fractures; Car Crash; Car Accidents;

    Sammanfattning : The project focus has been development of guidelines and methods for upper extremity injury reduction in car crashes. The safety of the central body parts improves which indicates the need to develop methods for avoiding non-life threatening injuries such as fracture of the arms. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Design of Thick Concrete Beams : Using Non-Linear FEM

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad

    Författare :Daniel Mekonnen Teklemariam; Bennie Hamunzala; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Thick concrete beam; Capacity; Non-linear finite element analysis; Crack width; Load deformation response; Ultimate and Serviceability limit state.; Tjocka betongbalkar; Kapacitet; Icke-linjära finita element analys; Sprikvidd; Deformation; Brott-och bruksgränstillstånd;

    Sammanfattning : The experimental studies performed on the behaviour of very thick concrete beams subjected to static loads have revealed that the shear mechanisms play an important role in the overall response and failure behaviour. The aim of this thesis is to recommend suitable design methods for thick concrete beams subjected to off-centre static concentrated load according Eurocode 2 by using non-linear finite element analysis (NLFEA). 5. 20. Wear characterization and wear mapping of a coated cutting tool : Development of cutting tool test fixture and wear testing

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Science, Mathematics and Engineering Education Research (SMEER)

    Författare :Abdulbaset Mussa; [2015]
    Nyckelord :tribology; friction; sliding wear; coating;

    Sammanfattning : Wear mechanisms of the cutting tools are well investigated worldwide. Usually researchers use the cutting process itself, turning by single point cutting, as their investigation method, which includes turning a metal cylinder with a pre-selected work-material and predetermined cutting conditions.
