    Sammanfattning : Detta arbete utreder möjligheten att säkra vattentillgången i Mönsterås kommun med hjälp av en avsaltningsanläggning för bräckvatten från östersjön. Det är högst troligt ett sådant vattenverk skulle kunna uppföras i kommunen och dessutom ge ett vatten med lägre halter av oönskade ämnen än vatten renat med konventionella metoder från yt- och grundvatten till en marginellt högre kostnad. Through qualitative semi-structured expert interviews, the study identifies clear research and data gaps related to the Nubian Sandstone Aquifer System (NSAS) and highlights the need for a nuanced approach to fossil groundwater extraction that focuses on water use efficiency improvements.
