    Sammanfattning : Amidst the efforts to mitigate the energy-related carbon emissions of human activities and pursuing a net-zero future by 2050, the aviation sector, as part of a wider group of hard-to-decarbonize sectors is responsible for 12% of all the transportation emissions globally. Green Hydrogen as a zero-emissions alternative fuel from water and renewable energy serves as a prime candidate to replace conventional aviation fuels and lead the way towards carbon-free flights. Sammanfattning : For the EU to reach its 2050 climate targets the aviation industry that is highly dependent on fossil fuels needs to drastically reduce its emissions. In the decarbonisation of the aviation industry drop-in sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) have been identified as a promising solution to abate the industry’s emissions. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Authors: Ludvig Klingsäter and Samuel Elm Supervisor: Professor Hans Sjögren Background: The aviation industry was for a long time a heavily regulated market with characteristics of duopoly where states owned and managed the airlines traffic. After the 1990´s deregulation and liberalization of the aviation industry, new airlines emerged with new strategies. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Techno-economic assessment for optimised renewable jet fuel production in Sweden

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Jenny Trinh; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The aviation industry contributes to more than 2% of global human-inducedCO2-emissions, and it is expected to increase to 3% by 2050 as demand for aviation grows. As the industry is still dependent on conventional jet fuel (CJF), one of the key elements to help decarbonise the industry is to transition to renewable jet fuel (RJF). LÄS MER

  5. 5. A comparative study on the prospects of sustainable aviation fuels in Sweden

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Energiteknik

    Författare :Daniel Katebi; Olle Hoffman Carlsson; [2020]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The aviation industry needs to move towards a more sustainable future to achieve the climate goals set forth by the European Union (to reach a climate neutral economy by 2050), and in the recent past the interest in sustainable jet fuel has increased. In this report we compared different feedstocks and pathways for production of sustainable jet fuels from an economical, technical and environmental perspective for long-term implementation. LÄS MER
