1. The visibility of stellar transients in the Galactic Centre
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/AstrofysikSammanfattning : A semi-analytical simulation was developed to evaluate the K-band magnitudes of Red Giants [0.96 - 1.02 M⊙] orbiting the supermassive black hole in the galactic centre. The model assumed star formation between 10-12 Gyrs ago and by following the IMF and applying a random age condition, a stellar population was created. LÄS MER
2. Damage Assessment of the 2022 Tongatapu Tsunami : With Remote Sensing
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/GeoinformatikSammanfattning : The Island of Tongatapu, Tonga, was struck by a tsunami on January 15, 2022. Internet was cut off from the island, which made remote sensing a valuable tool for the assessment of damages. Through land cover classification, change vector analysis and log-ratio image differencing, damages caused by the tsunami were assessed remotely in this thesis. LÄS MER
3. Developing a Rainfall-Runoff Routing Model using Spatially Distributed Travel Times : Modelling a Cloudburst Event in an Urban Catchment
Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknikSammanfattning : The future holds challenges for urban areas when it comes to handling pluvial floodings, occurring when the rainfall intensity exceeds both the man-made and natural infiltration and drainage capacity. To gain understanding of the effects and needed measures, tools for modelling the urban response to events such as cloudbursts are needed. LÄS MER
4. Cropland and tree cover mapping using Sentinel-2 data in an agroforestry landscape, Burkina Faso
Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Sentinel-2, with high spatial resolution bands and increased number of spectral channels, has provided increased capabilities for vegetation mapping. Cropland masks within heterogeneous areas such as the Sudano-Sahel zone have become useful for monitoring landscapes. LÄS MER
5. Mass Balance of the High-Arctic Glacier Nordenskiöldbreen, Svalbard, in a Changing Climate
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapsläraSammanfattning : Melting glaciers are the major contributor to sea level rise. Glaciers are sensitive indicators of climate change and current experience strong developments in a rapidly warming Arctic environment. LÄS MER
