1. Statistical Analysis on Aerodynamics of Passenger Vehicles
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Sannolikhetsteori och kombinatorikSammanfattning : This thesis aims to use statistical methods to analyze wind tunnel data generated in automotive aerodynamics testing to understand the properties of aerodynamic force and pressure in a vehicle's working environment. The data used for analysis are visualized, clustered and finally analyzed for Granger causality to see whether a causal link exists between different variables. LÄS MER
2. Design of a Model for Low Speed Wind Tunnel Testing
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)Sammanfattning : As technology for manufacturing small scale prototypes of aeroplanes has become cheaper and more easily viable, the process of Rapid Prototyping has become more common. Rapid Prototyping allows for the fundamental aerodynamic qualities of a geometric body to be tested in a wind tunnel using a small scale prototype. LÄS MER
3. Sensor system for pressure measuring over a sail : Construction and implementation of a sail pressure measuring system
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : Wallenius Marine, KTH and SSPA are working together on a wind powered car carrier, that will ship cars over the atlatic. KTH has a small scale prototype of this vessel, and uses this prototype to test performance and new sensor systems, that can be used on the full scale vessel. LÄS MER
4. Mechanical Design, Analysis, and Manufacturing of Wind Tunnel Model and Support Structure
Master-uppsats, KTH/LättkonstruktionerSammanfattning : The use of wind tunnel models for aerodynamic research is nowadays indispensable to aviation progress in the last years as aircrafts have become more complex. Wind tunnel model design and manufacturing has adopted many different processes and materials such as the use of a five-axis CNC; making this process a relatively long and expensive one. LÄS MER
5. Design of compact automotive heat exchanger, analysing the effects of RANS models and utilising Additive Manufacturing
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : The analytical modelling of complex turbulent airflow remains one of the great unsolved mysteries of physics, but in this paper two widely used Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes models (k-$\epsilon$ and k-$\omega$ SST) are compared while designing a heat exchanger for the KTH Formula Student electric race car. CAD software was used to design lattices for the heat exchanger core and theorise about how to increase heat transfer while also taking into account the utilisation of metal additive manufacturing.
