Locavore : Utveckling av en digital marknadsplats

Sammanfattning: The project is based on a need expressed by food producers and restaurants. A study conducted by interviewing active businesses in Halland concluded a need for transporting small, locally produced goods. Producers and restaurants experience a lack of logistical solutions which offer distribution across the entire region, especially where individual orders can be transported in a profitable manner. Smaller businesses conduct a lot of their deliveries and distribution on their own, something that is not economically nor environmentally sustainable. During the interviews it was also revealed that the personal relation between the producer and customer is important and needs to be taken into consideration.  The project is carried out in collaboration with Hallands Matgille, a project which intends to strengthen Hallands food sector with the keywords sustainability, development and innovation (Signerat Halland 2020).  The concept that has been developed is called Locavore. Locavore offers a digital marketplace where in-app purchases of local goods can be delivered by co-driving with other users. Users of the app have been defined as producers, restaurants and individuals who have an interest in locally produced goods. The involvement of private consumers creates a greater co-driving opportunity through the usage of existing traffic. In alignment to The Sustainable Development Goals, sub-goal 9.1, a new dimension to sustainability and availability of locally produced goods in Hallands infrastructure is created by the concept of Locavore (Globala målen 2020).  In addition to the app a Sustainable Business Canvas has been developed. In the execution of the business model consideration has been taken to sub-goal 11.A and 12.8 of the Sustainable Development Goals where social and economic sustainability are two key functions (Globala Målen 2020). The service is based on the fenomen of co-driving which hopes to contribute towards new approaches to transportation of food. By offering a platform with access to new customer segments Locavore aims to inspire entrepreneurship which in the long term can result in development of the food sector in Halland.
