Kimberleyprocessen ur civilsamhällets perspektiv

Sammanfattning: This study examines whether the Kimberley process has succeeded to halt the spread of conflict diamonds to promote civil conflicts as well as if the Kimberley process has succeded to prevent human rights violations related to the diamond industry. The purpose of this study is to clarify whether the Kimberley process needs to be improved and whether the Kimberley process may precede as a model to inhibit conflict funding from other natural resources. Several actors opinions from civil society have been studied and compared in order to achieve a fair answer to the thesis. According to the theoretical perspective there are several different opinions about the Kimberley process. These are being presented in the treatise. In the conclusion of the study it is concluded that there are mixed opinions about the Kimberley process and its success. At last reasons to these mixed opinions are discussed.
