Sammanfattning: The purpose of the analysis was to study the health of early farmers. To achieve this, the aim was to make a paleopathological analysis of the osteological material from the passage grave Gillhög in Barsebäck parish (Skåne). By recording and analyzing the bone material from the passage grave, the aim was to investigate if the bones showed any paleopathological changes and which ones. Hopefully, the analysis will be able to contribute information about the individuals' health status from the passage grave. A quantitative analysis method was used based on different frequencies of the bone elements. Scientific methods such as sex and age assessments, MNI, frequencies, and paleopathological studies were used in the registration of the osteological material. Paleopathological changes could be observed on approximately 6% of the analyzed bone elements and fragments determined to be human (Homo sapiens). An MNI of 15 individuals was distinguished among the examined bone material. Sex assessments were made on approximately 4,1% of the bone material with paleopathology, and age estimates on about 36,5%. Since the human bone elements showed few pathologies, the individuals from Gillhög were assumed to be either relatively healthy or so sick that it was not visible in the skeleton.
