Det svenska biståndets problematik : och varför vi måste ifrågasätta det mer

Detta är en L2-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Mänskliga rättigheter

Sammanfattning: This paper examines the financial aid that the Swedish government grant poor countries, mainly the so called third world countries. Most papers about financial aid focuses on the effects of it. My intent is to offer another perspective, which is why I focused on the language used by the Swedish government when they present their financial aid, to investigate wether you can see any power-relations displayed in it. By using a critical discourse analysis I concentrated on identifying how the different parties, in a text produced by the Swedish government considering their financial aid, are being portrayed. After identifying and discussing the parties I chose to apply the term ”partnership” on my now fixed identities. This I did primarily because of the increasing use of that term in the financial aid discourse. My intent was to problematize and question the use of that term. I discovered that although the purposes may be good, to use a word like partnership may sometimes be misleading. Albeit the term presupposes that it’s an equal division between the two parties, the actuality generally presents another reality.
