Sammanfattning: In our individualized society, with a shift from strict norms on how we live our lives to everyone’s own unique lifestyle, we see a growing need for diversified housing for different types of constellations. The nuclear family is not a certainty anymore, the number of single residencies have increased and separations are common. People can choose to become a parent on their own and twosome relationships are being questioned all together. We are free to choose the life we desire. But we are faced with challenges on how to densify our cities and create housing for everyone’s needs, while making it economically sustainable to live here. The prices per square meter are increasing when more and more people move into urban areas and with the large amount of single residencies it’s expensive to live in the city. Our digital era furthermore challenges us regarding social and physical health. At the expense of individualization and digitalisation many people experience isolation and loneliness, despite the fact that we live in dense communities. We are simultaneously in need of a different solution when we have a decreasing population provisioning for the elderly. With these insights as a basis we take off into a project concerning questions on what a contemporary multi residential building may look like.
