Detta är en Magister-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Institutionen för psykologi

Sammanfattning: The purpose of the present study was to examine school psychologists’ perceptions about their own as well as other school professionals’ involvement in, and preparation for, crisis management in the schools. This was to be achieved by taking into consideration various demographic variables of interest. A total of 359 members of the Swedish Association of Preschool and School Psychologists (PSIFOS) were contacted, out of which 86 chose to participate. Two separate web questionnaires, containing a total of 41 main items were made available. These were organized into seven clusters, covering the following areas; demographic information, crisis management training, experience of different types of crisis situations, crisis management plan, crisis response team, crisis interventions and schools’ management of crisis situations. Statistical analysis was used to interpret the data. The results showed that the majority of the respondents were interested in participating in crisis management and held a positive view of their capability in relation to other school professionals. Furthermore, variables such as age and work experience turned out to be of significance, accounting for differences between groups of respondents.
