Tvärprofessionellt teamarbete inom den skolsociala jurisdiktionen - En kvantitativ studie om den skolkurativa professionen utifrån platsannonser

Sammanfattning: Cross-professional teamwork has, according to prior studies, especially within human service organizations, shown to be a recurring theme, seemingly with the aim to provide a holistic approach to clients. Within school social work, such approaches are found to accommodate school pupils' complex problems that often go beyond one singular professional’s knowledge base. Furthermore, social policies within the school social area have increased, specifically since a law reform in the Swedish Education Act 2011 targeting the pupil health team, emphasized the need for cross-professional teamwork. The present study aims to, with cross-professional teamwork in mind, explore if this established term is shown to be present in school counselors’ job assignments and what this means for the profession’s jurisdiction. To accomplish this, the study uses a quantitative approach to attempt to find a correlation between the study’s three variables in school counselors’ job advertisements; cross-professional phrases and psychosocial phrases, along with cross-professional phrases and pedagogical phrases. Using Abbott’s system of the profession as the primary theoretical framework combined with organizational theory’s effective teamwork, a quantitative content analysis of a total of 70 job advertisements was done. The results are presented with Pearson's r, which shows a relatively strong correlation of 0.354 (p ≤ 0.01) between cross-professional phrases and psychosocial phrases. A similar correlation between cross-professional phrases and pedagogical phrases could not be confirmed. The correlation between the two variables is further analyzed in a discussion within the context of the system of profession, which concludes that further research is needed to explore whether a strong emphasis on cross-professional work is beneficial or detrimental to school counselors’ jurisdiction, and by extension, profession.
