[translated title] Supervisor: Anna Rypi The purpose of this paper is, through a qualitative approach, to examine the community youth leader’s view on juvenile delinquent behavior. Through semi structured interviews, we were able to direct the focus on the community youth leader’s thoughts, in relation to the adolescents whom show signs of criminal behavior. And also what impact the community youth centers could have on these juveniles. Through these interviews, we discovered that these community youth centers both could have a positive and a negative impact on the development of juvenile delinquent behavior. It is clear that the relation between the community youth leader and the juvenile is the key instrument, where the adult can have a positive effect on the adolescent. The conclusion is, if the community youth center can provide meaningful leisure time for the adolescent, the community youth center will be able to have a positive impact on the development of juvenile delinquent behavior.
