Mellan professionella och alternativa ideal: En kvantitativ analys av svensk supporterjournalistik utifrån ett hybriditetsperspektiv

Detta är en Master-uppsats från Stockholms universitet/JMK

Sammanfattning: This thesis expands the understanding of the concept of hybridity and its suitability as a theoretical framework in journalism studies. The purpose of the study is thus to highlight hybridity on the textual level in relation to the blurring boundaries between professional and amateur sports journalism. This is done by focusing on a topic that is often overlooked – the textual content of supporter-produced sports journalism. Articles published in 2021 on Sweden's largest supporter website SvenskaFans are compared with the traditional sports journalism at Dagens Nyheter and Sportbladet by using quantitative content analysis. A total of 474 (N) articles are analysed through a theoretical framework focusing on hybridity, alternative media and genres. Findings suggest that news texts are the most common genre in supporter-produced sports journalism at SvenskaFans. The main subject in the articles on SvenskaFans are usually matchday and the actors who speak out are usually the editorial staff themselves. The textual style is often characterized by a personal, interpretive, emotional, positive language and the alternative attributes were not dominant in the news content. The overall picture also indicates that the language used and the degree of professionalism in supporter-produced sports journalism varies from writer to writer.Findings also suggest that SvenskaFans exhibits a complexity that requires the analysis to "go beyond hybridity" to get the full picture. This is because the results indicate that there are nuances that the original definition of fails to recognize.
