Sammanfattning: The concept of employability is being discussed much more frequently, and the demands to achieve it have increased throughout the years. Most notably, the responsibility for creating employability has shifted from being in the hands of society - to depend on the individual. In light of this, the aim of this study is to examine how newly graduated law students perceive their own employability, and what possible factors influence this state. This will be investigated through qualitative interviews with six newly graduated law students from six different Swedish universities. Through the lens of sociological theories of Pierre Bourdieu, we aim to make sense of the students' perception of their own employability through perspectives such as economic, social, cultural and symbolic capital - as well as through the notion of habitus. The result of the study manifests how grades, personality and social connections play a major part in an individual's employability. Lastly, even though the respondents were newly graduated, they all showed optimism in their future career and perceived their own employability as high.
