Egenvårdsförmåga hos personer med depression : En kvalitativ litteraturöversikt

Sammanfattning: Background: Depression is a mental illness that can affect all people. The causes of people having depression vary and depend on several factors. Depression is a disease that affects life in many ways. Nursing care in depression is based on managing and teaching to help the patient achieve self-management. Aim: To describe what affects self-care management in people with depression. Method: The study is based on a literature review with an inductive approach. The material used for the literature review consists of scientific qualitative articles. Friberg's five-step model was used to analyze the material. Result: A total of 14 articles were utilized in the result. Two headings with a total of five subheadings were identified: Internal factors consisting of the subheadings: Personal conditions, feeling control and Experiencing fear. External factors consisting of the sub-headings: The importance of social life and getting support from society. The result shows that attitude, socially learned behaviors, to feel in control over one's life situation and access to support plays a major part in a good ability for self-care management in depression. Conclusion: The thesis has shown that self-management is influenced by both internal and external factors, as it is important that a nurse identifies patient needs and resources for self-care and helps solve imbalances in self-management.
