1. Seasonal Variability of Ice Nucleating Particles (INP) in Southern Sweden
Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskapSammanfattning : Cloud ice crystals are formed by ice-nucleating particles (INPs). The micro-physical properties of clouds, precipitation formation and the life cycle of clouds are strongly influenced by the presence or absence of ice. Therefore knowledge of atmospheric INP concentrations is crucial to improve weather forecasting and climate projections. LÄS MER
2. Can ancient pathogens emerging from glaciers and permafrost reach Europe by aerosolization?
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Glaciers and permafrost capture bacteria and viruses when they form, which can be suspended for millennia. This includes long since extinct pathogens which are functionally novel. As polar regions get warmer these pathogens will emerge and spread through the local ecosystem, potentially altering it. 3. The Aerosol-Chase Project. A continental Lagrangian experiment.
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/KärnfysikSammanfattning : Determining how aerosol particle number size distributions evolve during long range transport and how aerosol sources contribute to the aerosol population is one of the greatest conundrums in aerosol science. Current monitoring of particle size distribution is done in fixed stations that provide limited information about the reasons why size distribution changes with time. LÄS MER
4. Neural Network Based Model Predictive Control of Turbulent Gas-Solid Corner Flow
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Signaler och systemSammanfattning : Over the past decades, attention has been brought to the importance of indoor air quality and the serious threat of bio-aerosol contamination towards human health. A novel idea to transport hazardous particles away from sensitive areas is to automatically control bio-aerosol concentrations, by utilising airflows from ventilation systems. LÄS MER
5. Influence from long-distance transport, local sources and precipitation on black carbon concentrations at a rural background field station in southern Sweden
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : The year 2018 was the first complete year with aerosol observations at the rural background station Hyltemossa in southern Sweden. The aim of this thesis was to analyse and investigate the influence from long-distance transport (LDT) aerosols, local sources and precipitation on the black carbon (BC) mass concentration by utilising the Aethalometer and the HYSPLIT model, which estimated the BC mass concentration ([BC]) and simulated the origin of the LDT air masses to Hyltemossa, respectively.
