  1. 1. Sign Language Translation

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Mekatronik

    Författare :Pierre Sinander; Tomas Issa; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Mechatronics; data glove; American Sign Language; stretch sensors; conductive fabric; Mekatronik; datahandske; teckenspråk; sträcksensorer; elektriskt ledande tyg;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of the thesis was to create a data glove that can translate ASL by reading the finger- and hand movements. Furthermore, the applicability of conductive fabric as stretch sensors was explored. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Gauntlet-X1: Smart Glove System for American Sign Language translation using Hand Activity Recognition

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Författare :Asif Mohamed; Paul Sujeet; Vishnu Ullas; [2020]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The most common forms of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) devices these dayslike the keyboard, mouse and touch interfaces, are limited to working on atwo-dimensional (2-D) surface, and thus do not provide complete freedom ofaccessibility using our hands. With the vast number of gestures a hand can perform,including the different combinations of motion of fingers, wrist and elbow, we canmake accessibility and interaction with the digital environment much more simplified,without restrictions to the physical surface. 3. 3. Ambiguity in Peace Agreements : Cognitive and Computational Models for Processing Syntactic Ambiguity in Israeli-Palestinian Peace Agreements in English

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Engelska institutionen

    Författare :Parastoo Asghari; [2018]
    Nyckelord :complex noun phrases; syntactic ambiguity; language processing; cognition; corpus linguistics; computational model;

    Sammanfattning : Systems that attempt to process texts and acquire information from texts in English need to be particularly alert to noun phrases since they carry so much information. Systems, whether comprehensional or computational, may face particular difficulties when dealing with complex noun phrases. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Akademiskt svenskt teckenspråk : En undersökning av akademiska kännetecken

    Kandidat-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för lingvistik

    Författare :Juli af Klintberg; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Academic Sign Language; Language style; lettering; descriptive; formal; informal; Akademiskt teckenspråk; språkstil; bokstavering; deskriptiv; formellt; informellt;

    Sammanfattning : Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka de kännetecken som kan betraktas ingå i akademiskt svenskt teckenspråk och som i sin tur kan bidra till att studenter kan författa sina uppsatser på akademiskt svenskt teckenspråk. Inspelat material från föreläsningar, gjorda av fyra döva akademiker och från teckenspråkskorpus, där två av de döva akademikerna även medverkande och några slumpmässigt valda informanter, undersöktes. 5. 5. Swedish Sign Language Skills Training and Assessment

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för datavetenskap och kommunikation (CSC)

    Författare :Dani Potrus; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Sign language; Sign language recognition; Video game; Efficiency; Sign language assessment; Experimental design; Statistical testing; Statistical evaluation; Teckenspråk; Igenkänning av Svenskt teckenspråk; Teckenspråks tv spel; Effektivitet; Teckenspråklig bedömning; Experimentell design; Statistisk testning; Statistisk utvärdering;

    Sammanfattning : Sign language is used widely around the world as a first language for those that are unable to use spoken language and by groups of people that have a disability which precludes them from using spoken language (such as a hearing impairment). The importance of effective learning of sign language and its applications in modern computer science has grown widely in the modern aged society and research around sign language recognition has sprouted in many different directions, some examples using hidden markov models (HMMs) to train models to recognize different sign language patterns (Swedish sign language, American sign language, Korean sign language, German sign language and so on).
