    Sammanfattning : The aim of this essay is to contribute to a better understanding about two burial mounds and their environment from an archaeological perspective: the Sunnerby mound on Kållandsö and the Skalunda mound on Kålland in the western parts of Sweden.     Sammanfattning : In the 1930s, a boat-grave was found in Sutton Hoo, England. Soon after, it was noted to have several similarities to swedish boat-grave from the region of Mälardalen, specifically Vendel and Valsgärde.
