  1. 1. Cognitive Overload in Mixed-Reality Interactions: A Qualitative Analysis

    Magister-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Författare :Sachin Palihawadana; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Mixed Reality Interaction; Cognitive Load Theory; Context Understanding;

    Sammanfattning : Mixed reality (MR) technology is trending in various sectors at the present time. In MR applications, due to the interactions between two realities, the potential of experiencing Cognitive Overload is high. Hence, the present qualitative study has been conducted to broaden the understanding of Cognitive Load in MR interventions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Är worked examples användbara inom biologi-undervisning?

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Malmö universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap, matematik och samhälle (NMS)

    Författare :Olle Claesson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Cognitive load; Cognitive load theory; Example-problem pair; Extraneous cognitive load; Fading; Germane cognitive load; Intrinsic cognitive load; Long term memory; Transfer; Self-explanation effect; Worked examples; Working memory; Arbetsminne; Avtagande; Exempel-problem par; Extern kognitiv belastning; Genomarbetade exempel; Inneboende kognitiv belastning; Kognitiv belastning; Kognitiv belastnings teori; Långtidsminne; Relevant kognitiv belastning; Självförklarande-effekten; Överföring;

    Sammanfattning : För att lyckas lösa problem och använda kunskap behöver en person först ha lärt sig grundläggande kunskap om problemområdet. Sådant lärande kräver att den lärandes arbetsminne inte överbelastas med oändamålsenlig information. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cognitive Load in Advanced Systems : Registration of Swedish grades in the University Admissions process

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för tillämpad fysik och elektronik

    Författare :Cecilia Larsson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Human-computer interaction; Cognitive Load; Interaction Design; User Centered Design; Administrative system; Interaktionsdesign; kognitiv belastning; användarcentrerad design; administratörssystem;

    Sammanfattning : Users' cognitive load must be considered in the advancement of digital systems, to keep human-computer interaction as effective and sustainable as possible. The aim of this thesis was to redesign a function of the administrative client NyA, an advanced system used by administrators in the university admissions process. LÄS MER

  5. 5. How spatial split-attention effects in multimedia relate to cognitive load and visuospatial capabilities

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för psykologi

    Författare :Alfred Norén; Daria Lindholm; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Cognitive load; multimedia learning; spatial contiguity principle; spatial split-attention; object-spatial imagery; visuospatial capabilities; OSIVQ; cognitive style; Social Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The present study investigated firstly how spatial split-attention conditions in multimedia affects cognitive load, and secondly how individual differences in objectspatial imagery styles may affect this interplay. To test this, we included both objective measures (response time) and subjective measures (self-reports) of extraneous cognitive load in four different multimedia learning trials with spatially integrated versus separated multimedia presentations.
