  1. 11. Methane flux measurements with low-cost solid state sensors in Kobbefjord, West Greenland

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Hanna Axén; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Geography; Physical Geography; Arctic; Greenland; methane flux; wetlands; instrument; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Methane is one of the most important greenhouse gases, and the Arctic region plays an important role in its dynamics. Due to limited observations in this remote and often harsh environments, large uncertainties surround the role of the Arctic region in a warming climate. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Application of the eddy-covariance method under the canopy at a boreal forest site in central Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Vlad Pirvulescu; [2013]
    Nyckelord :closed-path system; open-path system; soil chambers; latent heat flux; carbon dioxide flux; sensible heat flux; Physical Geography and Ecosystem Analysis; eddy-covariance; Norunda; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The eddy-covariance (EC) method was applied at 1.5 m height, for the period 2007-2010 at Norunda, central Sweden, for calculating energy (sensible and latent heat) and carbon dioxide (CO2) fluxes. The aim of this study was to assess the applicability of EC method above the forest floor. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Measuring CO2 emissions from a small boreal lake and its connecting streams using automatic floating chambers

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment

    Författare :Juliane Krenz; [2013]
    Nyckelord :CO2 emissions; floating chamber; gas transfer velocity;

    Sammanfattning : Though there is an innumerable amount of freshwater systems, they cover just a small fraction of the Earth's surface area and have been mostly disregarded as an important quantitative element in the carbon cycle on regional or global scales. Recently several studies showed the importance of freshwater systems as a significant source of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Diurnal variation in methane flux in a low-arctic fen in Southwest Greenland

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Bjarne Munk Lyshede; [2012]
    Nyckelord :geography; physical geography and ecosystem analysis; diurnal; methane; wetland; Arctic; Greenland; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Popular science: A Day in the Life of a Methane Bog Methane gas is continuously released from wetlands around the world. In Kobbefjord, Greenland the release of methane is low during the cold of winter and higher in warm summer months. But the amount released also varies from day to night; a pattern that has to do with both temperature and light. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Seasonal and inter-annual variability of soil respiration at Skyttorp, a Swedish boreal forest

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Min Wang; [2012]
    Nyckelord :Skyttorp; chamber system; soil respiration; CO2 flux; geography; physical geography; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The ecosystem carbon balance is the net result of CO2 uptake by photosynthesis and CO2 emission through ecosystem respiration and soil respiration is a major part of ecosystem respiration. Soil CO2 fluxes were continuously measured from August 2005 to November 2008 with an automatic chamber system at a boreal forest site in central Sweden to investigate the annual and seasonal variations of soil respiration (Rs) and its dependence on soil temperature and soil moisture.
