1. BALLOT STRUCTURE, DISTRICT MAGNITUDE AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STRINGENCY. A Quantitative Study of OECD Countries
Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionenSammanfattning : The role of the electoral rules, and the ballot structure more specifically, in determining environmental policy outcomes has received minimal attention in the literature. This paper contributes to this gap by analyzing the environmental policy consequences in proportional representation (PR) systems with different ballot designs. LÄS MER
2. Assessing the Effectiveness of Urban Trees with Skeletal Soils in Flood Risk Mitigation
Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknikSammanfattning : With increased urbanization and climate change, heavy rainfall events and urban floods are becoming more frequent. To meet the demands for effective climate adaptation strategies and mitigation measures, Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) have received increased attention. LÄS MER
3. Predicting Navigational Patterns in Web Applications using Machine Learning Techniques
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för reglerteknikSammanfattning : In large corporations, customer support is a costly service, and an area of constant optimization. Solutions to increase efficiency and decrease bottlenecks are constantly needed. LÄS MER

5. An Empirical Survey of Bandits in an Industrial Recommender System Setting
Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknikSammanfattning : In this thesis, the effects of incorporating unstructured data—images in the wild—in contextual multi-armed bandits are investigated, when used within a recommender system setting, which focuses on picture-based content suggestion. The idea is to employ image features, extracted by a pre-trained convolutional neural network, and study the resulting bandit behaviors when including respective excluding this information in the typical context creation, which normally relies on structured data sources—such as metadata.
