  1. 1. Näringsämnen och metaller i sediment och blåmusslor från Hanöbukten - En analys av marin miljöpåverkan från massabruk

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för miljö- och klimatvetenskap (CEC)

    Författare :Elvira Källberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Föroreningar; massabruk; blåmusslor; sediment; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The pulp industry is important for creating sustainable paper products and for the Swedish economy. However, the industry has historically polluted marine environments through its emissions. This study aims to analyse the effects of the pulp mill Södra Cell Mörrum on the marine recipient Hanö Bay in the southern Baltic Sea. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Sediment transport in small streams is related to riparian buffer width : a comparison between wide and narrow riparian buffers

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Rasmus Staaf; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Riparian Zone; Protective Zone; Headwater Stream; Forestry; Clear – cut Harvest; Organic Sediment; Inorganic Sediment; Near Stream Logging;

    Sammanfattning : This study aims to provide information about how different widths of riparian buffers affect the quantity and quality of sediments transported in a small stream after a clear – cut harvest. Small streams have critical influences on downstream rivers and excessive transported sediments can have large negative effects on the aquatic system. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Nutrient Retention in Constructed Wetlands

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Johanna Kero; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Constructed wetlands; nutrient retention; phosphorus; nitrogen; catchment area factors; Anlagda våtmarker; näringsretention; fosfor; kväve; avrinningsområdesfaktorer;

    Sammanfattning : Eutrophication, a surplus of nutrients, is a problem in aquatic environments and one of the Swedish Environmental Goals is that there should be no eutrophication caused by human activities. Constructed wetlands (CW:s) is a measure that could be implemented to decrease the transport of nutrients to water bodies through retention. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Freshwater bivalves with ecosystem engineering traits : The biodeposition rate of A. anatina and U. tumidus

    Kandidat-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Författare :Gullstrand Tova; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Freshwater bivalves; biodeposition rate; A. anatina; U. tumidus; faeces; pseudofaeces; duck mussel; swollen river mussel; Sötvattensmusslor; biodepositionshastighet; A. anatina; U. tumidus; avföring; pseudoavföring; allmän dammussla; spetsig målarmussla;

    Sammanfattning : Freshwater bivalves of the family Unionidae have filter-feeding traits that alter freshwater ecosystems on several trophic levels. Filtration of organic and inorganic particulates in the water column transform matter through the mussel’s egestion before it is sequestered in the sediment, making it available as food for benthic invertebrates. 5. 5. Determination of organic phosphorus in soil samples by capillary zone electrophoresis coupled to electrospray ionization mass spectrometry

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Analytisk kemi

    Författare :Theodora Giannakoudi; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Inositol Phosphates; Capillary Electrophoresis; Mass Spectrometry; Soil; Organic phosphorus; Extraction; Electrospray Ionization;

    Sammanfattning : Chemical substances that are either produced by nature or by humankind have a consequence on the environment when they are accumulated to a great extent. One of nature’s major problem is that of the eutrophication of surface waters, which is caused by inorganic and organic phosphorus compounds and, in particular, from a group known as Inositol Phosphates.
