  1. 1. Effekten på artsammansättning i växtsamhällen vid betning av Rangifer tarandus

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Emilie Voss-Schrader; [2023]
    Nyckelord :grazing pressure; Rangifer tarandus; species composition; vegetation analysis; Malla Strict Nature Reserve;

    Sammanfattning : The fact that large herbivores, such as Rangifer tarandus, play a part in shaping its environment through grazing and trampling of the ground is widely acknowledged today, as well as that these factors have the potential of affecting regional patterns and even global climate. This study investigated whether a considerable increase in grazing by R. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Large-Scale Infrastructure and Regional Economic Development: A Synthetic Control Analysis of the Øresund Fixed Link

    D-uppsats, Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för nationalekonomi

    Författare :Hanna Larsson; Gabriel Ehrnst Grundin; [2023]
    Nyckelord :cross-border infrastructure; Øresund Bridge; Denmark; Sweden; synthetic control method;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the regional economic effects of the Øresund Bridge across the Denmark-Sweden border. Using macroeconomic data over the period 1980-2019, we employ the synthetic control method to estimate the effects of the bridge on three economic outcomes in the regions linked by it. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Methane Sulphonic Acid in East Antarctic Coastal Firn and Ice Cores and Its Relationship with Chlorophyll-a and Sea Ice Extent in the Southern Ocean

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Emma Nilsson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :methane sulphonic acid; firn cores; sea ice proxy; marine primary productivity; Fimbul Ice Shelf; Dronning Maud Land; metansulfonsyra; firnkärnor; havsis-proxy; marin primärproduktion; Fimbulisen; Dronning Maud Land;

    Sammanfattning : The seasonal retreat of sea ice in the austral spring and summer around Antarctica has a significant effect on phytoplankton activity, mainly due to light availability, meltwater input of dissolved iron, and surface water stratification. Phytoplankton produce dimethylsulfoniopropionate, the precursor to the climate-cooling gas dimethyl sulphide, which is ventilated to the atmosphere and oxidised to methane sulphonic acid (MSA).
