  1. 1. Upper Ordovician through lowermost Silurian stratigraphy and facies of the Borenshult-1 core, Östergötland, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Amir Noor; [2010]
    Nyckelord :Borenshult-1 core; palaeoclimate; upper Ordovician; sea-level; GICE; HICE; Baltoscandia; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The Ordovician is an important period in the Phanerozoic, with remarkable faunal turnovers, several major carbon isotope excursions, and shifting climate. The strata of this time period not only re-veal these events but also provide useful information about the palaeoclimate and sea-level. LÄS MER

  2. 2. A Lower Silurian (Llandoverian) halysitid fauna from the Berge Limestone Formation, Norderön, Jämtland, central Sweden

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Peter Dahlqvist; [1999]
    Nyckelord :Halysitids; Catenipora; Halysites; Tabulate corals; Jämtland; Norderön; Berge Limestone Fm; Sweden; Silurian; Llandovery; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Halysitid corals from the Llandoverian (Early Silurian) Berge Limestone Formation in Jämtland, central Sweden, are described. The investigation of the halysitid corals was done on material derived from the Norderön Island in Lake Storsjön, central Sweden. LÄS MER

  3. 3. En silurisk transgressiv karbonatlagerföljd vid S:t Olofsholms stenbrott, Gotland

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Sigfinn J. Jensen; [1999]
    Nyckelord :Carbonate sediment; crinoid limestone; biostrome; stromatoporoids; tabulate corals; transgression; Slite Beds; Silurian; Wenlockian; Gotland; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : An investigation of carbonate sediments from the upper part of the Slite Beds on Gotland shows that the deposition has occurred in a shallow oxidated marine environments. The sediments in S:t Olofsholms Quarry consist of six different lithologies: 1) Coarse-grained crinoid rudstone, 2) Fine-grained crinoid rudstone, 3) Coarse-grained crinoid grainstone, 4) Fine-grained crinoid grainstone, 5) Floatstone 6) Boundstone The sediments consist for the most part of crinoid fragments of sand to gravel size and were deposited during high energy conditions close to a reef.
