  1. 1. Using a GIS to enable an economic, land use and energy output comparison between small wind powered turbines and large-scale wind farms: the case of Oslo, Norway.

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Colin Potter; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Geography; GIS; Wind power; Renewable energy sources; urban wind energy; urban areas; planning; vertical axis wind turbines; comparative studies; urban integrated energy systems; Oslo; Roan; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Responding to an identified knowledge gap, the study aims to determine if smaller wind turbines located on top of existing urban buildings are more resource efficient (land utilization and economically) than large scale wind farms. To answer this question, using a GIS, the resource efficiency of the Roan wind farm in Northern Norway was compared to a theoretical modeled installation of small-scale wind turbines on top of buildings within a 2km radius study zone in central Oslo. 2. 2. The influence of the built environment on the climate in different Swedish urban fabrics

    Magister-uppsats, Högskolan Dalarna/Institutionen för information och teknik

    Författare :Reem Mutwali; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Urban heat island; Urban morphology; The urban weather generator;

    Sammanfattning : The urban heat island effect is usually disregarded when considering energy-efficient measures for the built environment. This study aims to present and analyze the effect of the urban built environment on the Swedish urban climate. This analysis is done in terms of assessing the mean urban heat island and monthly average air temperature. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Dynamic simulation of Swedish residential building renovations and its impact on the district heating network

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Christopher Bay; Nicolás Pinzón Muñoz; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : As urbanization continues to rise, cities now account for two-thirds of the world's total energy consumption. The built environment alone contributes to 40% of total energy consumption and a third of total greenhouse gas emissions. With an additional 2. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Sustainable Urban Energy Transition for the City of Bitola, North Macedonia : A City-Scale Urban Building Energy Model

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Sammanfattning : Cities play a crucial role in sustainable energy system transformation. Urban energy systems account for 75% of global primary energy use, and 70% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions (IEA, 2021). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Värmebehov i byggnader i en planerad stadsdel med lågtempererad fjärrvärme som värmekälla

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Byggteknik och byggd miljö

    Författare :Karin Israelsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Passive Houses; low energy buildings; low-temperature DH; building heating systems;

    Sammanfattning : Due to desirable emission reductions and population growth, an increasing energy demand isidentified as a dire issue for energy systems. The introduction of low energy building districtsenables an increased energy system efficiency. This study’s aim is twofold. LÄS MER
