  1. 1. Post-Fire Vegetation Recovery Monitoring using MODIS Time Series: A Case Study in California

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Geoinformatik

    Författare :Julia Edje; [2023]
    Nyckelord :vegetation recovery; MODIS; HRT; EVI; fire; burn severity; land cover; climate zone; California;

    Sammanfattning : Human-caused forest fires have increased in magnitude and frequency, affecting global vegetation and requiring a re-evaluation of fire regimes. Changing fire regimes have led to reduced burned areas in fire- dependent ecosystems and increased areas in fire-independent ecosystems, resulting in changes in land cover and posing a threat to native plant communities. 2. 2. Effects of soil factors on pioneer bryophyte species composition

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Examensarbeten i biologi

    Författare :Dora Mijić; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Biology and Life Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Bryophytes play a significant role in various ecological processes, including soil succession and colonization after disturbances. Although they are commonly believed to take up nutrients from soil solutions rather than the soil itself, the influence of soil on their growth and distribution is evident from previous studies. 3. 3. Multikriterieanalys av kyrkbyggnader som trygghetspunkter : En undersökning utförd på Säffle, Åmåls och Melleruds pastorat

    Kandidat-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Författare :Lina Karlström; [2023]
    Nyckelord :point of safety; natural disaster; multiple criteria evaluation; AHP; GIS; church buildings; trygghetspunkter; naturolyckor; multikriterieanalys; AHP; GIS; kyrkbyggnader;

    Sammanfattning : Förekomsten av extremväder på grund av klimatförändringar har med åren ökat vilket gjort att förekomsten av naturhändelser bedöms öka i framtiden. Vid krissituationer i samhället är det bra om det är planerat för trygghetspunkter som är platser dit människor kan ta sig vid kris. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Climate, Conflict, and Fire: Examining Correlations and Fire Indicators in Manisa and Diyarbakir, Turkey

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Christina Elena Albus; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Geopolitics; Vegetation fires; Armed conflict; Earth observation; Kurdistan; PKK; Turkey; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Climate issues are currently of attention in various contexts as changing climate factors affect us in many ways. One of these effects is the influence on the probability and frequency of fires, although other factors, especially anthropogenic ones, also play a role. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evaluation of the effect of conflict on fire and GPP in Ukraine

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Lilith Kastens; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Climate Change; Armed Conflict; Fire; GPP; Remote Sensing; Russia-Ukraine War; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The war in Ukraine in 2022 has caused environmental damages on different scales which come with their own challenges. One of the factors that can cause environmental damage is vegetation fire. LÄS MER
