Metoden och den huvudsakliga teorin är baserade på Barbara Walls The Narrative Voice: The Dilemma of Children’s Fiction från 1991 och hennes användning av narratologiska koncept om berättarperspektiv för att avgöra om en bok är skriven för barn.
