  1. 1. 2D Reflection Seismic Imaging of Rødby Structures, Denmark: Geological Conditions for CO2 Sequestration

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Geofysik

    Författare :Mussie Habtemariam Zeru; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Reflection seismic; Geologic carbon storage; Sandstone; Structures; Rødby;

    Sammanfattning : Amidst the global climate action movement, geologic carbon storage (GCS) has emerged as a pivotal strategy for mitigating atmospheric CO2 levels, offering environmental and economic opportunities. This thesis targets the Bunter Sandstone Formation within the Rødby structures in Denmark, focusing on seismic Profile 1. 2. 2. Petrography of impactites from the Dellen impact structure, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Robert Mroczek; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Dellen; Impact; structure; magnetite; apatite; shock waves; shock-metamorphic; features; Impactite; petrography; scanning electron microscope; SEM; geology; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Identification and characterization of shock-metamorphic features in hypervelocity impact craters is important for our understanding of how shock waves interact with geologic materials and how impact craters form, which in turn is essential to our understanding of what role impact cratering played in the development of our solar system. Of particular interest are accessory minerals like apatite, which contains various volatiles that can affect the atmosphere of a body, or magnetite whose magnetic properties constitute a remote sensing indicator which allows us to study and understand the internal structures of distant bodies. Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Oludare Joseph Olufe; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Drift stability analysis; underground excavation reinforcement; underground mining stability assessment; geologic structures; wedges modelling; rock mechanical analysis; Unwedge program; Dips program;

    Sammanfattning : Study of Production Drifts Stability and Assessment of Reinforcement Requirements at LKAB Konsuln Test-Mine Levels 436 and 486 Using Geologic Structures Data, and Modelling Software - Dips and Unwedge:  a Part of dp1 Project (Mine Layout and Technology) of the Sustainable Underground Mining (Sum) Project Oludare Joseph Olufe Global population has been on exponential increase over the past half century. The population explosion is driving massive urbanization and infrastructure developments across the globe, which result in huge demand for metals, especially steel. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Potentiella nedslagskratrar i Sverige med fokus på Östersjön och östkusten

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Jonna Johansson; [2020]
    Nyckelord :nedslagsstrukturer; potentiella nedslagsstrukturer; Östersjön; östkusten; Gotland; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Impact structures are one of the most common geologic structures in our solar system, but relatively few impact structures have been found on Earth. There are many reported potential impact structures, but few have been investigated or confirmed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Analysis of Multicomponent Data to Study Esker Structures, Turku-Finland

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Geofysik

    Författare :Julia Fridlund; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Finland; esker structures; reflection seismology; multicomponent data; S-wave; Finland; rullstensås; reflexionsseismik; flerkomponentdata; S-vågor;

    Sammanfattning : Eskers are long winding ridges that originate from gravel that has travelled in meltwater streams in glaciers. At the study site, Virttaankangas plane in southwest Finland, there are esker structures covered by sediments. One reason why it is important to study eskers is because they are used for purifying drinking water. LÄS MER
