11. Data driven fuzzy suitability modelling as a method for assessing habitat choice of migratory Red Kites (Milvus, milvus) across Spain
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : As an increasing number of species drift onto the IUCN’s list of endangered species, it has become increasingly important to understand the fundamental aspects that are essential in maintaining the fitness of these threatened species. Using tracking data from 75% of a sample of Swiss juvenile Red Kites during their wintering period in Spain, various bioclimatic predictors (BCMPs) were taken into account to create fuzzy membership functions based on the spatial distribution of the related biogeographic elements within the operating range of the sample set of kites. 12. Effects of climate change on potential geographical distribution of Prunus africana (African cherry) in the Eastern Arc Mountain Forests of Tanzania
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : The aim of this study was to model the impacts of climate change on potential geographical distribution of Prunus africana in the Eastern Arc Mountains of Tanzania. Maximum Entropy modelling was used to construct species distribution maps for P. LÄS MER
13. GIS-based modelling to predict potential habitats for black stork (Ciconia nigra) in Sweden
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental StudiesSammanfattning : The black stork (Ciconia nigra L.) was lost from the Swedish fauna in the 1950’s. An increased understanding of the need to save endangered species has led to restoration or preservation of populations through reintroductions. To have background information about a species’ habitat requirements is important for introduction programs. LÄS MER
14. Method evaluation of GIS-based prediction tools for biodiversity : habitat suitability for birds in Stockholm, Sweden
L3-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of EcologySammanfattning : Swedish cities are from a European point of view considered small, sparsely populated and green. Stockholm city has a great deal of its nature and older cultural landscape remaining, which is unusual in large metropolitan areas. LÄS MER
