  1. 31. Temporal Trends in Dissolved Inorganic Carbon in a Swedish Boreal Catchment

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Lukas Rehn; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Boreal catchments; carbon cycling; carbon dioxide; DIC; headwater streams; Krycklan Catchment Study; trend analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Inland waters are important systems for transforming, storing and transporting carbon along the aquatic continuum, but also by emitting carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) to the atmosphere. In light of the last decades observed increase in dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in many inland waters across the northern hemisphere, a logical question arise whether other aquatic carbon species display similar trends. 2. 32. Assessment of how environmental variables and vegetation structure influence peatland carbon fluxes

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Växtekologi och evolution; Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Bernabé Ramírez; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Boreal peatlands are important ecosystems from a carbon balance perspective because they are natural carbon sinks as a result of millennia of peat formation. However, due to climate change, these ecosystems are susceptible to changes in hydrology and temperature. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Biodiversity and habitat conditions in reaches with high flow velocity along gradients in hydrological and geomorphological alteration : A study of six rivers in Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Anders Aalto; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Hydrology; Geomorphology; Biological variables; Human alteration;

    Sammanfattning : The vast majority of rivers in the developed world are affected by human alteration, which in turn negatively affects the species that rely on these highly diverse and species rich areas to survive. Homogenization of previously heterogenic areas due to a change in water discharge and the substrate availability in the rivers is often regarded as the main reason for the loss of species richness in rivers and the riparian zone. 4. 34. One River Two Stories

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Stadsbyggnad

    Författare :Lingjie Kong; JINGWEN QIN; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Urban design; China; Sleeping city; Renewal;

    Sammanfattning : By investigating Yanjiao and Beijing sub-centre, on both sides of the Chaobai River, it reveals that today more than 40% of the population in Yanjiao travels to and from Beijing for work.  Because of the inequities of political and administrative systems, as well as massive and uncontrolled urbanization, Yanjiao is losing its identity gradually. 5. 35. Relating land-use and plant biodiversity in Scanian semi-natural grazing lands

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Timothy Micallef; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography; Ecosystem Analysis; Land-use; Biodiversity; Grazing land; Remote sensing; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change and biodiversity loss are amongst the most pressing environmental issues internationally, with far-reaching impacts that place natural and semi-natural habitats at ever greater risk of degradation. My project explores the effects of land-use on plant biodiversity in semi-natural grazing lands using datasets covering Sweden’s southernmost region, Scania. LÄS MER
