    Sammanfattning : Using a game-theoretic framework, we investigate an oppositional player's decision about participating or abstaining from participation in a coup d'état. In our model, players use the information on the regime's breaking point, the cost of participation, the cost of abstaining from a successful coup, and the size of the opposition to decide when to participate.
