  1. 16. Understanding the Relation between Wind Power Output and Strategic Withholding through Production Failures: Evidence from Diversified Producers in Sweden

    C-uppsats, Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för nationalekonomi

    Författare :William Stålhök; Knut Örnéus; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Production Failures; Wind Power; Market Power; Strategic Withholding; Merit Order Effect;

    Sammanfattning : Previous research provide partial evidence for electricity producers utilizing production failures to disguise the strategic withholding of capacity as well as evidence of diversified electricity producers counteracting the price-reducing effect of the merit order through capacity withholding. In this study, we investigate whether an increased supply of wind power affects the number of reported unplanned production failures among diversified producers in Sweden, thus suggesting this being one of the specific mechanisms with which producers counteract the merit order effect. 2. 17. Climate Impact of Wind Turbine Production : Emissions from Material and Energy Usage for Onshore and Offshore Wind Turbines

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Joel Arnelo; Maria Kolte; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Wind turbine production; Wind turbine components; Onshore and Offshore wind power; Wind power climate impact; Produktion av vindkraftverk; Vindkraftverk komponenter; Landbaserad och havsbaserad vindkraft; Klimatpåverkan vindkraft;

    Sammanfattning : Wind power is a renewable energy source that is making great strides in the global energy sector. While wind power is a renewable energy source, it is not entirely free from carbon emissions. This is because the production of wind turbines is dependent on the use of energy, and as a result can emit large amounts of carbon dioxide. LÄS MER

  3. 18. A stakeholder-based analysis of potential photovoltaic systems’ contributions within the German government’s capacity addition plans to 2030

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Felix Rüsseler; [2023]
    Nyckelord :German Energy Transition; Photovoltaics; Photovoltaics System Types; Renewable Energy Policies; Stakeholder Interviews; Sustainable Development;

    Sammanfattning : The ongoing energy transition in Germany foresees significant increases in the share of renewable energies in the country’s electricity mix until 2030. A share of 80% is targeted and photovoltaics should have a major contribution with a total capacity of 215 Gigawatts aimed to be installed. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Using forest reflectance modelling to estimate albedo for narrow-view satellites

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Nick Bergmans; [2023]
    Nyckelord :satellite; remote sensing; albedo; surface reflectance; vegetation; forest; machine learning; albedo estimation; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Surface albedo estimations from remote sensing are invaluable for energy balance descrip- tions in climate research. The aim of this work is to evaluate the possibility of using Sentinel-2 satellite data to get the total albedo of a small, vegetated area. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Streamlining the flow of material through buffer simulation and multi-objective optimization, with regards to sustainability : A case study at Volvo Construction Equipment

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för maskinteknik (MT)

    Författare :Daniel Nord; Alex Wernholm; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Multi-Objective optimization; Buffer Allocation Problem; Simulation modeling; FACTS Analyzer; Buffer allocation; Optimization; Buffers; Lean; Manufacturing; Streamlining; Sustainability; Flow of material; Design of Experiments; Gemba walk; Data visualization;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis will provide knowledge on how to maintain a well developed flow of material while at the same time finding an optimal level of capacities for buffers. Simultaneously, aspects that allow for positive sustainability practices will be regarded.  Buffers have a considerable impact on the performance of a production system. LÄS MER
